(Pre) Wedding

Well, getting ready for the wedding was fun and exhausting. So much had to get done. My parents, Jacob's family and so many others helped in so many ways. It was simply amazing to see how many people were willing to help out. We felt so loved and made the firm goal to be as selfless and kind as all these wonderful people in our life.

For our journal's sake let me go a little into detail about our preparations and the actual days of the wedding.

Set the date
It was quite the process to decide on a good date. We intitally had October in mind. Both of us didn't like the idea of a long engagement. We hoped to give everyone enough time to make plans to be there though. After checking Jacob's and my schedules we noticed that we would not have any time after the wedding for a honeymoon and that it would be really hard to make it happen during that time with Jake's school etc. We had a lot of thinking to do about the different options. After praying and thinking and counseling with our parents we decided and felt that Sept. 3rd would be the right date. That meant we had a 6 week engagement. Looking back, we are so glad we did it this way. It was close to perfect. Although we wish more of our loved one's could have been there, we knew they were there in spirit and it turned out wonderful.

Engagement Pictures
We wanted to keep the wedding as inexpensive as possible. Therefor I was going to just have someone take a couple of pictures with my digital camera for the announcement . Well after telling everyone at work about our engagement one of my great co-workers at the UNC, Jill, offered to do them for us. I was so touched that she would be willing to take the time and effort to do that without any pay. We had such a full schedule until the wedding but knew we had to get the pictures taken asap. So we scheduled it the friday after. While planning the wedding I've also been trying to get a job in Logan and miraculously had an interview come up that Friday morning at an Architectural Firm. So my plan was to work in Provo until noon, drive to Logan for the interview at 3.00 then to pick up Jacob in Bear River City and drive back to Provo, get ready for pictures at 6.45pm. Well, Provo and Logan are 2 1/2 hours away from each other. Needless to say we were pretty late for our picture appointment. Nevertheless, Jill and her husband David were patiently awaiting our arrival and ended up doing an amazing Job. We had a ton of fun and look forward to them coming to visit us in Logan.

Invitations
I was going to just print invitations at Wal-mart. Well, my amazing brother would have non of that. He and his sweet wife sacrificed a little 'get away' they had planned to design our invitations. They turned out to be just wonderful. My parents decided to get  all the printing done in Germany and to mail those they wouldn't send within Europe, to us. An aquaintance from Jared even gave them a great deal. Another mercy! Although there were some mishaps that made it took a while to get them to us, looking back they worked out fantastically. I hope everyone who wanted one got one and enjoyed them. It is quite the process to send them out and not to forget someone or make a mistake. Both Jacob and I spent several nights and hours taking care of mailing them and Jacob's family personally delivered some to those that lived close.

Cake
I always dreamed of designing my own wedding cake and to have a tiered, delicious cake. After hearing how much custom cakes cost, I had decided that I could just go without. Then I had a former coworker (from the Dentist office I used to work for) offer to make it for me at cost. I started to think about a design and got so excited. Unfortunately she had things come up and had to take back her offer. I started to stress a little and decided that I could just do with a sheet cake from Macey's or something like that. Then, again pretty miraculously, the girl that I replaced at my new job in Logan heard about my wedding plans and told me that her Mom makes cakes and would probably be willing to do it for me. (Keep in mind that I had just met this girl and only trained with her for less then a day). Well, I told her about my ideas and she told me it was similar to her own wedding cake and after talking to her mom I had another cake person. She ended up making an amazing wedding cake and I simply loved it. It looked pretty much exactly the way I wanted it to.

Flowers
One of my good friends from Germany (that now lives in Utah) is Courtney Senter. She was my counselor in the Stake YSA Presidency and Student Counsel in Nuremberg and went to Denmark -EFY as a counselor with me. She is simply fabulous. She started a fleurist business with some friends and has for a long time offered to do my flowers when I get married . I knew she did an amazing job and I was so excited for her to do them. She followed through in every way, did what I wanted and gave me an amazing deal on everything. Another mercy! She is amazing and although she had such a stressful time during and before my wedding, I couldn't have wished for anything more than what she did. I would recommend her to anyone wanting to do flowers for their wedding. It was so worth it! For more info go to http://www.thefleurist.blogspot.com/

Rings
Coming from Germany I never expected to have an actual diamond engagment ring but Jacob picked out a wonderful engagement ring to propose with. It needed to be fitted and after 2 tries the jewelry store made it look and fit me perfectly. I love wearing it every day and it makes me feel mighty special to wear Jacob's ring. A lot of people asked me how long I've beem enaged but never commented on me being married when I was wearing it. Most people in the US wear 2 rings when they are married. So I guess my ring didn't look like a wedding ring but an engagement ring. My actual wedding band is very special because Dad Hendrickson made it himself and especially for me. It is a plain silver band that fits wonderfully to the shape and size of my engagement ring. I will always cherish it. Jacob and I picked out his wedding band at the same jewelry store he bought my ring and it came free with the engagement ring. It is so neat to see a ring on his finger too although I got a much better deal on getting him his ring than he did for mine :)

Dress/Suits
Another thing I wasn't sure of was if I could afford a dress I would like and that would be modest enough to work for my temple wedding. It was hard for me to picture myself going dress shopping without my Mom there. I decided to save for a reasonable budget and to stick to it even if it wasn't "the dress of my dreams". I shopped around with my cousin in Provo, looked online, got some input from Kristin and my Mom and then had Jacob's Mom (who seriously is an Angel in so many ways) go with me for my actual dress shopping adventure. She came all the way from Bear River City to Provo and was such a great shopping -buddy. We went to 2 stores in Logan. The first one was slightly dissapointing. I found some that I kind of liked and would have worked but they did not have a large selection in my budget at all. The second store "Veronica Michaels" in Spanish Fork was much better. I loved everything about it. The consultant there put me in dresses I liked a lot, that were in my budget and was alltogether very accomodating. I put on one of the dress she picked out and absolutely loved it. I had a "This is the dress" moment and got super excited. I wanted to show Jacob and hear his opinion but successfully resisted by sending him a picture of the ugliest dress we could find and telling him that it was the dress I've been always looking for. I also got a veil that I loved within the budget I decided on. Oh it was heavenly. Jake's Mom took pictures and I sent them to my family and showed them to everyone who cared to see it, except for Jacob. We told him all sorts of things about the dress and it was really fun to keep him in suspense. I just loved my dress and still think it was worth every cent. I felt super blessed and excited to find it. Jacob also got a new suit from Mr. Mac and they even gave him a missionary discount. Another mercy. If I may say so myself he looked extremely handsome in it. I felt honored and lucky to marry him (not just because of the suit of course). When Mom and I went shopping, she brought Adam (Jake's younger brother) to keep Jake company. They picked out ties together. That was pretty fun for them and they also got a pretty good deal on very nice looking ties for everyone in the bridal party.

My Parent's trip
During the whole planning of the wedding it was unsure who of my family would be able to come or if any would be able to come. I found out later that a lot of my friends and family in Germany pitched in and gave me and Jacob the tickets for my parents to come. They surprised me and were able to spend close to 3 weeks with us. It was incredible and meant so much to me to have them there. They were such a huge support and it was wonderful to have their counsel and love right there. They were a big source of strength and stability to me in all the hectic planning. I missed all of my brothers, my sister in law, nieces and nephew as well as my extended family and friends in Germany a lot. I also wish some of my extended family in the US would have been able to be there, but it was so special to have my parents there and to have those of the family that could make it come.

Reception/ Dinner
Another big decision in planning a wedding is to decide what types of celebrations to have.
Reception vs Open House and or Dinner/Breakfast, Venue, Programs, Decorations, Food, all are a matter of costs, time and effort. Growing up I always wanted to have a kind of party or something where all of those that are important to us could take part in the wedding. The older I got and the more I went to American Recepeptions, I resolved that I would be ok not having any of it. I didn't think we could have afforded it. Well, Jacob's parents, my parents and a lot of other people made it happen and it was more beautiful than I could have ever wanted. We decided to have the reception on Friday night so that we could focus on immediate family and the sealing on saturday without much stress. My Dad's had some help and made a beautiful backdrop, a lot of people brought refreshments, extended family and friends helped with all the things we had planned incl. decorations and set up. The program was wonderful and all in all it was simply great. Jacob and I look back and are just amazed at how special everything turned out.

Sealing
We had hoped to have Grandpa Jensen seal us. He is like my real Grandpa. Unfortunately since he isn't blood related to me, we could not get permission. So I just scheduled the sealing with someone in the temple in Logan. A few days before the sealing Pres. Burton, who served as a mission president in Munich, is a good friend to my parents, was my music professor at USU, Jacob's stake patriarch from the YSA Stake and also taught Jacob's parents at USU, called after receiving our wedding invitations and asked who our sealer was. After explaining the situation to him, he offered to seal us. I didn't have a clue that he was a sealer in the Logan temple. We were so excited and touched about how all of this came about. My parents and Jacob's parents were really excited as well. He did a wonderful job and we felt it was really special to have him and his wife there. It was so wonderful to be sealed in the temple with the proper preparation and done with authority. It was great to have everyone that was able to come to be there.

Pictures
A few people told me that we should make sure to have good pictures taken because they regretted not having great pictures of their special day. I am picky about pictures of me anyway but I didn't want to include a photographer into the budget. Megan, the Hendrickson's bishop's daughter takes amazing pictures and offered to take them for us for free. Again, how amazing is it that all of these people are willing and offer to do things for us?!? She did a great, GREAT job-very professional. What I've seen so far I just love! It's true it is special to have your wedding day and all of the events and people there photographed for later. We really appreciated her help. We decided to take pictures early on Friday. That way we would not have to worry about extensive picture taking after the temple ceremony. We went to the temple grounds and Old Maine Hill on USU Campus. Lindsay and Amber, Jacob's cousins made themselves available on short notice to help me with my make-up and dress. It was so very fun to have them there. They were so cute and did a great job.
After the temple pictures we walked to the "A" where traditionally USU students kiss on True Aggie Night to become True Aggies. I really wanted a picture on it. Unfortunately they were trying to regrow the grass around it and it had been blocked off for a while. I still wanted to scope it out. When we walked to the Quad (USU's main campus area), there were a lot of classes out on it and people started cheering for us. It was fun! The "A" was indeed blocked and I at least wanted to get a 'pouting picture' in front of it. Someone who looked official, walked by and saw us. He told us that if we would put the barriers and the tape back up we could get on for pictures. I was so excited! If I hadn't already forgetten his name I maybe would name my first son after him. (well, maybe not...). Anyway.

All the picture taking was a lot of fun.

When we got back to Bear River the Reception place at the Church was amazingly decorated and everything looked stunning. It was so special to have so many people come to the reception. Family, ward members, friends, even some who were in my stake in Germany , missionary couples, former room mates, co-workers, companions... It was so fun. We had an advice wall, a picture slide show, a line, and some frames where Adam and Rachel took pictures of people coming to the reception.

On Saturday after a relaxed breakfast and opening our gifts, the incredible and unforgettable sealing, taking some more pictures, a great family dinner and program and saying good byes Jacob and I drove off in our very decorated car to SLC for a short but wonderful Honeymoon.

Just for posterities sake: The programm for our family dinner included:

  • Jacob playing the Polonaise
  • Me singing :I can't help falling in love with you
  • Adam singing "kiss the girl" while playing the mandolin and John acting it out with a sock puppet.
  • Uncle Thayne singing and playing the guitar
  • My Dad reading a poem he wrote
  • My Mom and Dad singing and playing the piano
  • Us getting a German Wedding Cup and Jacob drinking from it while I just giggled.
  • Me getting the gloves and hankerchief from Pres. Mckay's wife that my Grandmother gave me
  • Dad H. saying some things
  • Richy's amazing video with messages from both parents
  • Me serving ice cream and desserts :)
  • Jacob's brothers and Grandpa Grover, painting our car, putting signs and soda cans on it and filling it with balloons
  • visiting with family members and loved ones
  • Family Members helping with pulled pork sandwhiches and all sorts of other delicious food

I just can't believe that I am now Mrs. Friederike Hendrickson. To know that I will be Jacob's wife for all eternity if we both do our best to stay worthy is priceless! I surely am the luckiest girl alive. I'm married to the most amazing man and my best friend; have been raised in a terrific family with such great role models of siblings and parents and extended family members who love and support me; and now married into a family of amazing, loving and selfless people who I love very much. I am also so blessed with countless other people around me who are so loving and consistently demonstrate great examples of christlike living. I couldn't be happier! Heavenly Father truly blesses my life in fantastic ways. It motivates me to try and become more worthy of his blessings and to do better at doing my part.

A LOT OF FIRST's

Life has become a whirlwind of exciting events. It's been incredibly fun and rewarding. At the same time it's been interesting to see how I deal with all of these changes and situations and to make important decisions. So far I've loved every stage of planning out my future life with Jacob and getting ready for our marriage.

Jacob and I re-met the beginning of April and have been dating since May. We got engaged on Juli 21st and have/had a 6 wk. engagement. By today we only have 12 days left. By the time of our wedding I will have moved back North, trained my replacement at UNC, finished all of my responsibilities in the ward there, started a new job in Logan, moved all of my stuff into our new appartment, planned a wedding, started school and got ready for our new life as much as possible. Jacob will have finished up his 3 summer jobs, got trained in and started his new part time job, moved into our new appartment, begun his semester with a lot of Landscaping Architect Credits, continued as piano teacher and helped plan the wedding. In addition to all of this we both had a lot of extended family and friends to meet, got ready to have my parents come visit, and hopefully helped each other to stay sane. As I said, I think we both enjoy it but I, more than Jacob, get stressed out every now and then. Luckily I have the best, most unselfish and loving fiance and we both have been blessed with amazingly supportive family members and friends. It's been very special to witness little and big miracles all the time that help us accomplish the things we need to get done. Everything is falling into place and we get so much help. We feel very loved and blessed.

For those who haven't gone through this process themselves, let me enlighten you just a little about just some of the things you have to think about when planning a wedding:

Set the date, Invitations (design, print, sending out), Engagment Pictures, Cake, Flowers,  Dress/Suits, Brides Maids/Witnesses/Escorts and rest of wedding party, Temple Sealing, Sealer, Reception vs Open House and or Dinner/Breakfast, Venue, Programs, Decorations,Food, Pictures, Honeymoon, Wedding License, Gift Registry...

It's fun but at the same time it can be overwhelming and mind boggling. Most of all it makes me excited for the wedding to finally be here and for Jacob and I to become Mr. and Mrs. Hendrickson.

We had a few issues with our invitations to get here so my wonderful brother worked together with my family on a homepage with a digital announcement and all the information necessary for our reception etc.
Here is the link if you haven't seen it in an email or on facebook. We hope no one got offended or felt left out by not getting an invite yet. We just don't have them yet either. Well, that's it for now!

Soon to be Rike Hendrickson. (Kind of crazy! :)

Alright, folks.
Believe it or not, I'm engaged! Yup, to Jacob Hendrickson.

Here's a link to our digital announcement with all the information about our wedding reception etc.

http://www.dautelweb.de/jacobandrike/information.php?lang=en

Some of you will think: 'That's nothing new!' Others may shout: 'HALLELUJAH! It's about time!'
Well, what ever your reaction may be, mine still manifests itself with a cheesy, excited and permanently situated grin on my face, a remarkable (even more than usual) scatter brained-ness and a consistent lack of sleep. Needless to say, I am blissfully happy :)

Jacob and I got engaged July 21st. He did a great job in asking me and surprised me with a beautiful ring.

We decided to get married Sept. 3rd in the LDS Logan Temple. We will have a reception/open house on the 2nd at Jacob's home ward in Bear River City. We are trying to get invitations worked out asap and will hopefully get them to you. The next 5 weeks will be very busy as we are getting ready for the wedding, for school/work and our life together in Logan.

I haven't blogged a lot about any of this, in fact I've been neglecting my blog a lot. There are too many other things that I need to deal with and get done right now. But, let me just assure you that I am incredibly happy and doing very well. I feel so blessed to be able to prepare to get married and be sealed for time and eternity to the most amazing person in the whole wide world (for me anyhow)!
Thank you everyone for your prayers, and for all you do to show us your support and love!
It means a lot to me! I wish I was able to let everyone feel how much I love them and wish for you to be a part of this special time. Thanks again!

Endlich ein update!

Ok.

So!

Jacob behandelt mich so gut!

Easter Weekend

I know I'm just blogging away. Bear with me. Since I use my blog as the basis for my journal I just want to document as much as possible now that I have a little time on my hand.
Easter Weekend for our family usually entailed lot's of terrific family time, good food, easter egg nest hunts and showing visitors, missionaries or friends around to the franconian Easter fountains or walking among the cherry blossoms. I missed not being able to see my adorable nieces and my nephew having the time of their life searching for their treats in our garden. I missed my Mom buying incredible amounts of Lindt Chocolate to hide for my Dad and my Dad trying to find the most ridiculous hiding spot for his treats for my Mom. And I missed our discussions about the Saviors role in our life. In addition to all that I missed Alicia's Birthday. In light of all of these events/traditions that mean so much to me I wanted to make sure that I used my easter weekend to the fullest and make the most of it despite of not being with my immediate family. And I am happy to report that I did! I had a GREAT weekend thanks to a lot of wonderful people. Most importantly though thanks to the oportunity of reflecting on the life of the savior and his sacrifice for us. I am so greatful to know that Jesus Christ is my savior, my redeemer and my loving Brother. He died for all of us and rose from the tomb to overcome death, thereby enabling us to one day return to our Heavenly Father and to become like Him. All we have to do is follow his invitation and 'Come unto him', 'Keep his commandments' and 'Do as He did'. I love Easter.
Alright. Here are some pictures (yes, AGAIN :) of my weekend...I'll comment on what I did.
I started out in Layton/Syrcause and spend some time with the Jensen Family. We had a lot of fun. There, I opened my Brithdaypresent /Camera. I dyed my hair and as tradition dictates Kathi styled it and did my make up. SHE IS 'tha BOMB' when it comes to anything 'looks' related.
Afterwards we took a trip up to my old stomping grounds in Logan. Anybody who knows me, knows how much I love going to Plays, Musicals, Orchestra or any live performances. USU has a pretty fantastic Arts and Music Program and being an Aggie myself I love going to their performances. It helps that they are usually free for students. This weekend they were showing 'Three Musketeers'. They did a great job. A few of my greatest friends came along. Needless to say, I had a blast! I love Logan! And I love my friends! They are all great examples to me.
oops this picture was actually from a few weeks before. Never mind. I like it so I'll leave it :)
Left to right: Jacob, a terrific guy! He served his lds-mission in Germany! Erika, one of the sweetest gal's you'll ever meet who is currently waiting for her mission call (I can't wait to find out where she'll be going), and my former roomie and close friend Rebecca who recently graduated with her MASTERS. She's the brilliant one, I'll say! Next stop... Wayne and Sharon's. Words can't express how much I love and admire these two. They are just stupendous! I am so blessed to have them in my life. They are always there for me and so fun to be around.
Lo and behold who did I see again at their house? Yup, it's Simon Kopischke, one of the twins. I couldn't believe how grown he is. 16! I'm getting old. He came to stay in Utah for 5 weeks. It was fun to hear about his family.

After that I got to see my cousins in Murray and their adorable little kids. I just love family time. I don't know why I didn't take pictures! Next time!

Oh and because I didn't already get showered with love from so many people I stopped by the Harris's. They even gave me some Lindt Chocolate. My easter was finally complete! :) We talked about old times and it was great to catch up. I love these two! They are so kind. When ever I am with Sister Harris/Renee I just stand in awe at her musical talent. Last night she obliged me and played for me and then she let me play the piano. I could tell how rusty I'm getting. My fingers just wouldn't do what I wanted them too.

Well, needless to say at the end of the weekend (which also included talking to my Grandmother in St. George and skyping with my family) I was blissfully happy and all puckered out!

Provo! The second!

Alright. Ready for another one? Ready or not, here it comes...

BYU Ward.
The infamous 'singles ward'. Although I've been going to singles wards for almost 2 years now, I have to admit, BYU Student wards are a class for themselves. I'll spare everyone details. Let's just say a lot of the stereotypes are true. After some adjustment I can honestly say that I love my ward though. Just barely I got home from a bunch of people inviting me to watch 'tangled' and half the ward came together. It was a lot of fun. I feel like it's a very friendly ward, I meet a lot of wonderful people and my Bishopric is amazing!!! The Bishop and his wife speak German. How lucky am I?!? I received a new calling as well and I'm excited to serve in it. I feel really fortunate to be able to go to church in such a great environment. Here is a picture of some of my new neighbors as well as fellow ward members. I still need some pictures of my room mates. They already gave their consent but we haven't been all together. Someday soon...
Here's our FHE Group
One of the highlights of the last week or two was the beginning of spring! I love the flowers and the blossoms. I can't explain how much I just wanted to go hike up our hill in Igensdorf and go to my favorite place and see all the cherry orchards, go look at the ornate 'Osterbrunnen' (Easter decorated fountains) or go to Nürnberg's "Hauptmarkt" and see all the spring flowers they sell. Oh, I miss my home! I love it here, don't get me wrong but I also love Germany so much. Well, finally the trees here gave me a little feel of home. I'm sure this sounds cheesy but oh well...I appreciated it!

Work has been really busy and still a bit intimidating. I learn so much though and I enjoy all the people I work with, which makes all the difference. I couldn't find a good picture online and did not yet have time to take a picture of where I work but here is the website
http://www.utahneurologicalclinic.com/

Alright. That's it folks. Now you got a glimpse of where I live, where I work and where I go to church. That pretty much covers the main areas of my life.

Provo! The first!

Welcome back to another one of my ramblings (is that even a word?:)...
My family in Germany has been bugging me about pictures of life in Provo. Good things take time, right? I didn't have a camera anyway! Well, lo and behold, about 3 weeks ago I received a mysteriously wrapped Amazon package. On it was a note saying,
"Happy Birthday Rike! Do NOT open this before May 10th. Love you!"

Deductive Reasoning tells me that anyone who knows me enough to spell my name right, knows when my birthday is, that I love surprises, my new address, and who knows I wanted a camera for a while will also know that there is no way on earth that I will be able to restrain myself from opening a package for over a month (especially if the packing label says what is in the package!) So, I documented me opening the package. Who ever you are, I hope you read this and that you will forgive me for opening your gift prematurely. I love it and dedicate all pictures I take with my fabulous new Sony Camera to you!
(Compare the quality of this picture taken with my cell phone with the following pictures! Forgive my "no-makeup-just woke up" self)

OK, moving right along! Here are a ton of pictures of my appartment in Provo. You asked for it! PS: you can click on any of the pictures and see them in original size :)

(only the middle part of the shelf in the family room is mine)

Of course my guitar (Cordelia) had to have a special place. I have to admit I still haven't gotten much better in playing her. But it's fun anyway.
I will have to give this desk up as once I get a roommate but so far it's been nice to have this extra space.
I am so excited to have these, mainly because I had to haul them around with me in my suitcases from Germany
Sorry, I took this this morning and everyone had just made their breakfast and hadn't had time to do the dishes. Do you spy with your little eye my tiny herb green house on the table? It's growing!
Except for my guitar none of this is mine. Jared and Richy if you were wondering, that Leonardo DeCaprio Poster is NOT mine! I have not yet become corrupted! :)

Apparently I outed myself as a German by planting these. I love flowers, what can I say!

Mom, for your benefit. Here's a picture with my new haircut/color. This was taken this morning and the sun was shining. I tried to get rid of the flash but almost every picture had the glare. Well, you know what my face looks like, just ignore the glare and enjoy the hair (haha...the rhyming was unintended!)

"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase"
  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Hope all of you living in the US were able to enjoy your Martin Luther King Day. I did.
One of the high lights of the day, was to get a quick surprise visit from some of my favorite people of all time.
Additionally I had great fun with my guitar and teaching Becca and Brandon a little bit (the guitar was bigger than Brandon which made it quite amusing), read a great book, applied for some more jobs, completed some homework and painted some more. All in all a relaxed, fun day. I also found my camera. Although it's hardly working I was excited to look through the pictures.Which reminds me, I was going to put pictures up of the boxes I painted so far. Most of them were for the boutique but some I made for Christmas presents or for fun.I didn't get pictures of all of them, but you can get the gest of it.

Oh, meet Cordelia! I'm so excited about my latest purchase! I waited a long time to save up for it. I checked way too many pawn shops, more that I care to admit and then I ended up buying it from an actual guitar store that had a great sales going on. It's a good thing too because I have no idea how to restring a guitar. This one had new ones on there so that bought me a bit more time before I have to learn how to do it myself.

Babysitting them youngens'

Hold on to your britches, because here we go on a whirl wind picture tour of my babysitting gig. 9 days, 3 kids, stomach flu, pink eye, 2 car issues and several fun little episodes = a stressful but entertaining time.

Stop 1... Wheeler Farm (this quaint little establishment is located south of Salt Lake. It took me prob. 20 min. to find the place once I was within a 4 block radius of it. Yeah. It was sad. Becca kept on saying how she thinks we were going in rounds. Well, we were :) So we came too late to do the milking or the tractor hay ride or any of the fun stuff, but still they seemed to enjoy themselves.

Stop 2...
Aquarium. All of these pictures were taken by my phone and I ran out of space. Therefor I do not have any pictures. But, never fear. I hope Cris, who came with us, will share his with me.

Stop 3...
Church. Well, I already briefed you on this one in my previous update so I will spare you any more mentioning of it. Let's just say it was an adventure :)

Stop 4. Cake-Bake and Attack of the chocolate dough.  Becca and Brandon love to cook and bake. A while back I let Becca make a spice cake and Brandon was really sad because he didn't get to help. So this time I promised him he could make the cake. He did really well. We filled it with chocolate and strawberry filling and made it look all fancy in the end. Becca got to help with the frosting after I picked her up from school. It was so yummy!

Hyrum was helpful by simply being content with occassional tickleing and singing. Isn't he just the cutest?!?

Stop 5. Science Fair and Salt Lake City
Becca loves everything science, astronomy, chemistry and biology related. Cris helped putting this on, so we stopped by and had a blast.

These kids love that guy, as I'm sure everyone can tell from this picture. Thanks Cris for all your help!

Stop 6 PJ Pizza Party with Root beer floats (and of course Wheat thins for me). We watched the Never Ending Story. Brandon picked it at the Library. May I just say that movie is SAD! I cried twice and just thought it was odd. I don't know why but the kids loved it.

Well folks, this is it!! Thank you for touring with us. We hope you enjoyed the ride. Exits will be on your right marked by a red box with a white x. Please come again soon! Oh, you want an encore? Sure... :) here are just some random pics still worth showing.

The End. Adios, Auf Wiedersehen, Au Revoir and Good bye!!!
